1)  “Human Landscapes” Artist Reception at Pure Pleasure this Friday night, May 1st
.
During the month of May 2015, Frank Leonard Photography has a “Human Landscapes” show at Pure Pleasure, 204 Church Street, Santa Cruz, California.  THE ARTIST OPENING IS FRIDAY NIGHT, MAY 1ST, FROM 6PM TO 9PM.  Click on the “Human Landscapes” image above to view the 20 photographs that will grace this show, but there is nothing like seeing these prints in person, in handmade natural wood frames, so come on out on Friday night, May 1st, and join in the fun of First Friday Art Walk, Santa Cruz!  Lots of venues, artists, and beautiful art!
.
2)  “Bubble Dancers” Photoset
.
Recently a good friend and fellow photographer of mine, Kevin Osborn, joined with me and two fabulous models to create a photoshoot using huge bubbles.  We build a bubble making contraption that enabled us to not only photograph the models dancing around the bubbles, but also being able to pose for us from INSIDE the bubbles.  The shoot was a fantastic and fun adventure.  I hope you enjoy these playful photographs.

3)  “Snake Charm” Photoset

Also recently I had the incredible privilege of being able to photograph a model with her snake.  My focus in doing this photoshoot was to be able to portray the relationship of trust between my model and her snake.  I hope you will agree as you view this remarkable photoset that these photographs indeed capture a very special relationship and beauty.

4)  “Riverside to Mountaintop” Photoset
.
Even more recently in this unbelievable month of April, I also had the joy of being able to photograph the model above without her snake, this time in the outdoor settings of riverside and mountaintop.  I believe the photographs you will view in this photoset represent the very best of what my photography has come to be.
.
5)  Open Studios 2015
.
I have submitted seven photographs for my application to Open Studios 2015, which takes place here in Santa Cruz County the first three weekends of this coming October.  The theme for my hoped for participation this year is “The Nude As Nature,” a theme that over the past year has developed into photographs that honor the beauty of the female figure, the beauty of nature, and the seamless connection between ourselves and the world in which we live.
.
6)  My New Photo Essay Magazine – “Interwoven Magazine”
.
For the past several months I have been working on the creation of a new magazine, “Interwoven Magazine.”  Its first issue will debut in late Spring this year.  The first issue features five photo essays that have to do with the ways in which we are connected to ourselves, to others, and to the world in which we live.  Whether it be in connecting with the people of Uganda, the seamless world of non-dualism and meditation, the street people of Santa Cruz, California, the human figure as nature, or the patterns our brains connect to in nature, these are photo essays that will inspire and encourage each of us to connect and act in a world of which we are all inextricably connected.
.
The articles are all in and the layout has been completed.  Interwoven Magazine will be available online and also in print.  I am currently seeking advertisers, as well as venues in which to sell print copies.  If you are interested in having this new magazine in your store, or if you are interested in running an advertisement, please contact me at publisher@interwovenmagazine.com

.
Love,
.
Frank.
