1)  A New Direction in my Photography
.
As you know, I have three main passions with my photography; landscapes, female figures, and astronomy.  The first two I have tied together in recent years with my continuing “Nude as Nature” body of work.  I now have found an exciting way in which to bring all three of these passions together into a new exciting creative art form and body of work.  To do so, I have broken out of the “realism” box that has characterized almost every photograph I have created over the past 57 years.  To do so, I am bringing several different images together in Photoshop and layering and blending them into composites.  It has never been my personal taste to like a photograph where the photographer brings in things that were not there, and then tries to make you believe that that is what it actually looked like, as in “there was no moon, so I just put one in.”
.
As you will see, there is no danger of misleading people in that way with the new direction my photography has taken.  It is very clear that what you see with these new images, rather than being a “realistic” depiction, is instead an expression of themes and messages that come from my mind and heart.  As a photographer friend told me last night, “Usually we go out to photograph the canvasses of nature, to find a composition that is appealing and beautiful.  With your new work, the canvas is not on the outside of you, but within, and it is very clear that people who view these images are seeing a very intimate expression of who you are as a person and a photographer.”  I could say so much more, but I will not.  I will simply say that this new adventure makes me feel like a bird that has been set free.  The skies are definitely without limit!  :o)  I have so far created 8 of these images.  You can view all of them at: http://frankleonard.com/daisy/

2)  Yosemite Photographs – January 2016

I just returned from a four day trip to Yosemite.  It was such a gift to find good snow there this year.  Hopefully this Winter will bring much more snow and rain to help us out of the drought we have experienced these past several years.  Below is a picture of Half Dome, which was the first picture I took once in Yosemite.  You can view all 18 Yosemite photographs that I have posted on my website at:  http://frankleonard.com/yosemite-january-2016/
